My interest in herbs began some decades ago when my back went out and I began to seek alternative treatments. I took classes, read books, made concoctions of all sorts and happily noted that even as a total newbie experimenting on my own I was amazingly successful
at having fun finding home remedies for cuts and bruises, sore throats and tummy aches. I relied on this and other healing modalities to help myself and my family through the normal ups, downs, owies, aches, pains, and stuggles of raising a family. My boys have grew up with a deep love for the outdoors, the wilderness and Mother Nature. As young adults they have become deeply committed to its preservation and protection. One is a young solar energy entrepreneur, the other an ecologist and biologist. He continues to give me invaluable input in my current work at OnePlanet Herbs.
I've relied too on the expertise of my husband Sebastian who is an acupuncturist and has also supported my work with herbs.
Throughout the years of work and family I continued to take classes and workshops on plants, herbs, aromatherapy, and natural healing. I developed an extraordinary interest in rainforest herbs after trips to Costa Rica and Brazil. Recently I established a distributorship in Suriname, also an Amazon rainforest country I hope to visit in the near future.
Currently I am enrolled in Michael and Leslie Tierra's herbalist training program and am a member of the American Herbalists Guild and the International Herb Association. I was recently invited into the Cambridge Who's Who 2008-2009.
As you know, OnePlanet Herbs supports indigenous economies in their sustainable use of the rainforest. My own personal dream is to go a step farther and spend several months in the Amazon rainforest learning from its inhabitants the mysteries and secrets of this vast treasure that offers its amazing healing powers to us all.
