Rue

Latin name: Ruta Graveolens 
Native to the Mediterranean region, Rue has been an important herb in various cultural practices since ancient times, particularly in Roman, Greek and Middle Eastern traditions. Its strong scent and bitterness were believed to repel evil spirits, the evil eye  and break curses. In Christian traditions, Rue became known as the "herb of grace," used in sprinkling holy water during ceremonies, symbolising repentance and spiritual purification. Rue can be added to protective charms, incense to cleanse and shield from negativity.
